As you probably already know the sunsets on the west coast of Kefalonia are truly amazing. Lucky for you we are situated on the west side of the island so getting to see one is a lifetime opportunity not to be missed. Special occasions, birthdays etc. are more than welcome and combining them with a sunset, away from the crowds of the day on a floating mini restaurant is certainly a must. The thought behind this trip is to show you the reverse part of the procedure taking advantage of the cooler evening and colours that the Sunset experience has to offer. Of course we will inform you of what the catch was the following morning giving you credits to our morning customers.

In the late afternoon we welcome you on aboard with a local drink and a fisherman’s snack, placing the nets at our secret fishing grounds. We talk about this procedure in detail explaining the way and the reason the nets are placed in the water. The effects of the currents and the state of the moon and what we might expect the following morning. We are not astrologists and we don’t tell fortunes but we can definitely show you the North star, that has guided sailors for centuries.

After we have finished with the nets, we head to Vardiani Island where you will have the time to enjoy an evening swim, so if sunset swimming was on your bucket list it is now ticked!

Following your swim we head towards the Sunset while your evening dinner is being prepared. The menu consists of fresh boiled vegetables, local dips, saganaki with shrimps and fresh fish, if you are wondering where the fish has come from it is from our morning catch. Of course all our dishes are accompanied with local white wine. The Greek people say that after eating fish a desert is always the best way to clean the palate, so it will certainly not be missing from your plate.

As the evening moves on and the sun has set we set sail under the evening stars. This is a unique experience that only Poseidon has to offer, the combination of a traditional wooden fishing boat with a sail set up. Of course sailing requires the wind so hopefully we will have the right conditions to open our sails.

On our return a light rum cocktail know as the “Captains Joy” is served. All you have to do now is relax and the enjoy the way back home.
